Hello again! Hope everyone is enjoying the summer- if you can stand the heat!
We are well- enjoying having Kevin home for a week. It's been nice to have an extra body here to help with our rather independant child! Laura is almost a year old (can you believe it?) so she has decided that she wants to do everything her way. Her newest display of independence includes not wanting to sit in her high chair and throwing food and utencils on the ground at supper time. She looks right at me when she does it, daring me to say something! Oh boy...
On a lighter note, Laura has taken her first steps! She walked on July 5th, but has been quite stubborn since then and refuses to do it again! For a while, she wouldn't even walk holding on to our hands, but she has started that up again. I'd love to see her walking before I go back to school in August. She loves the pool, though that took a little while. We went swimming with some friends today, and she splashed and kicked for a long time in my arms.
I should have some new pictures up soon as we are getting her 1 year portraits done Thursday
(my birthday!). Hope to see you soon!

It's Summer!
Hooray! It's summer! I am enjoying being out of school and having the chance to be a stay-at-home mom for a couple of months. Laura is loving having mommy at home too- she takes every opportunity to climb in my lap and just sit there with me.
Laura is now 10 months old, which is such a fun age! She is crawling, pulling up on anything, and "cruising" by holding on to things and walking. She has recently started walking by holding on to our fingers, so I have a feeling that running isn't too far in the future. She loves to babble and is starting to add some expression to her voice (and the occasional temper tantrum!). Laura has also begun feeding herself with her fingers, which is loads of fun because she is still learning that everything she sees on the floor is not necessarily food! It's hard to believe how fast time has flown over the past year- we are already working on Laura's birthday party, and I just made her appointment for her one year checkup!
I'll work on adding some new pictures in my free time- we will be having some made in July for her birthday. You can also check us out on Facebook!

On the move!!!
Hello all! Hope all is well in your world! We have been very busy with work (having to completely pack and empty my classroom for renovations) and keeping up with one very active 9 month old! Laura is crawling all over the place and is pulling up to standing using most furniture. Her favorite toy is an activity table that she plays on and can walk around. She will also push it some and try to walk forwards. It won't be long until we are running behind her! She decided a couple of weeks ago that she was done with baby food, so she now eats whatever we eat. She literally went on a hunger strike for about a day until we got the message! Today she ate half a McDonalds cheeseburger, and she loved everything we gave her at Hudson's barbeque last week (mac and cheese, sweet potato casserole, broccoli casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy, and barbeque!). The biggest problem is that she has no teeth, so she can't chew well. That lets out some foods, but I've learned to cook with her in mind. It has really helped my grocery bill though- baby food is expensive!
Can't wait to see many of you at the class reunion next week! We can't believe it's already been 10 years!

Happy 8th month birthday Laura!
Laura is officially 8 months old today, and she has certainly been feeling her age. She just started crawling with her belly off the ground and has found this to be a lot quicker than the "commando crawl" that she had been doing. This afternoon, she crawled over to me and almost pulled up to standing using my jeans. She can get to her knees, but just can't figure out how to get any higher!
She also ate meat for the first time today. Carrots plus Apples and Chicken- yum! A well rounded meal! She seemed to like it, despite its smell! She's a pretty good eater as it is- 4 6oz bottles a day plus cereal and fruit for breakfast, a veggie and a fruit for lunch, and meat plus a veggie (or fruit depending on the meat mixture) for dinner. She's not very picky about her food- except green veggies. She'll eat them but you can tell she's not that into them. She's also wanting to feed herself and gets very upset if she's not allowed too try. She's already had one bath today, and will at least get a sponge bath again before bedtime thanks to this endeavor!
The house is almost complete- just a few more boxes to go! Everyone is welcome to come check it out- just give us a call!

Welcome!
Hello all and welcome to my blog! I figured this might be a good way to allow everyone to keep up with all the latest from the Woods clan (not to mention it's a requirement for my technology portion of my teaching certificate :)).
Laura is growing like a weed- though she looks really tiny (just look at her parents)! She's almost 8 months old and is into everything! As I write this, she is opening and closing the doors under our TV where her toys are kept. She loves to walk/run in her walker, and she also loves to watch Dora the Explorer. Yes- my child is hooked on the Noggin channel, which is at least educational! She eats like a horse most of the time- loves sweet potatoes and any fruits. We have truly been blessed with a happy child who loves playing with her parents and also playing by herself.
We have moved into a "real" house now. For the first time in our marriage, we aren't sharing walls with anyone! It's got room to entertain, 3 bedrooms, and a FROG for when kids get older. Right now, it's Kevin's playroom! We absolutely love this house!
I don't know how often I will post to the blog- hopefully at least once a month- maybe more as Laura starts doing more things. Hope you enjoy it!
